A wooly window.

One of our absolute favourite things about our shop are the enormous front windows and one of our favourite things to do on a quiet afternoon is to potter about putting in new window displays.

Kyla is a little obsessed with yarn bombing at the moment so we thought we'd herald in the cold weather with a yarn bombed window.

We gathered Nanna blankets from the local op shops and were gifted lots of lovely bits and pieces by our crafty friends which we sewed together to make a huge wooly curtain for our big window.

We decorated the lamp, and one of our old chairs with some French knitting and more Nanna blankets. Plus we've showcased some of the beautiful wooly wares we have in store (check out this amazing hand loomed poncho by Dash Robin).
We also uncovered lots of little hats in the stash from Kate so now the shop critters are nice and cosy too.
And for our small window we constructed a wee Gnome hideaway, complete with snow capped mountains.
What fireside crafts are you planning to keep you cosy this winter?

Images from 1 year (almost)

It is almost a year since we formed the crazy idea that we could open a shop filled with all the amazing things we loved and made! Our official first birthday is a little further off but to celebrate Bec and I becoming rockin' business partners I thought I would share some of my favourite images of the shop over the past year...it's been a fantastically wild time and we are so excited for the next one...heaps more big things to come.

Wooly bits.

Just in time for your winter knitting and crotchet projects we now have a great range of organic, hand dyed and hand spun wool and wool/silk blends. These beautiful goodies are from the talented gals at Dash Robin and Fauve Fibres.

Lots of colours and different plys to choose from. Makes me want to pick up my crotchet hook and try something other than the one tiny beanie I've ever made.

We're back and it's hot!

Well, time flew on our week off but we are glad to be back in our shop (especially since the shop is airconditioned and Ipswich is suffering through a heatwave!)

We have been working feverishly on a few projects to make you crafty creative folk happy. There are now regular, monthly screen printing and sewing classes (check out the tabs above for more details), an upcoming Craft Rehab meeting for those with handmade ADHD (keep an eye out for the dates and details soon), The Ipswich Brown Owls are back sharing the cozy corner on the first Monday evening of the month and we are working on an extra-special fashion (and more) event to BLOW YOUR MIND! It's going to be all about sustainability and will involve some very talented folk from all over South-East Queensland)

There is a sales table with markdowns from some of our stockist including Whiskers Lane, Little Golden, A Little Vintage, Viva Handmade and Kellie Christie. There are some great bargains and I will pop some photos on the facey page today so you can check them out.

Last, but certainly not least, we are opening up applications for stockists again. So if you would like to become a Cultiver Craftisan please send us an email at cultivershop@gmail.com requesting an application package and we will get one to you right away. (Just to let you know, spaces are a bit more limited this year so make sure you WOW us with your application!)

Well, that's not all but you will have to stay tuned for more Cultiver news soon.
